COLORI COME SUONI
Albano Morandi, Colori come suoni
This is a special exhibition by Albano Morandi. Visitors immediately sense a unique fascination taking hold.
The impact is not only visual, it goes beyond that. The brain is reached by subtle suggestions that trigger other senses and amplify the narrative composed of bands of color which, whether parallel (vertical and/or horizontal) or oblique, travel across the surfaces. Rhythms, harmonies, juxtapositions, intersections, and overlays reach both the eye and the mind along generative paths—paths that, despite their apparent abstraction, give form to sequences that evoke sensations with musical connotations. What unfolds is a kind of orchestration (musical terms here are fully expressive) of color and composition—surprising in the uniqueness of each painting, and also in the way it expands across an entire wall or within the overall layout of the exhibition.
Throughout art history, there have been various explorations linking painting and music—exemplified by figures such as Bruno Munari and Luigi Veronesi. Albano Morandi’s work fits seamlessly into this field, grounded not so much in scientific principles as in intuitive and mental elaboration.
This artist’s journey—marked by a consistent refusal to impose a single vision,
always allowing space for the viewer’s personal interpretation—reaches one of its most emblematic moments in these works. Their expressiveness ranges from powerful, incisive tones to quieter nuances made of transparency and lightness.
